Closer is located in Bergen County, just to the northwest of New York City. The borough, which is set on 3.3 square miles, has a culturally diverse population of approximately 8,200 people.Closter is known as the “Hub of the Northern Valley,” with a wide variety of shopping centers and recreational facilities, as well as medical and educational resources. When you are arrested for a disorderly persons offense such as possesssion of less than 50 grams of marijuana, or a motor vehicle violation such as driving under the influence of drugs (DUI) in Closter, your case will be heard and decided at the Closter Municipal Court. A more serious charge for a felony will be sent to the Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.

Directions to Closter Municipal Court:

From the Upper Level of the George Washington Bridge:

Bear right on the bridge and get onto the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Take Exit 2 to traffic light, make left onto Route 9W South. Make right onto Closter Dock Road. Stay on Closter Dock Road for 2.5 miles.

From Garden State Parkway North:

Take Exit 165 (Oradell) and bear right after toll. At the stop sign make right onto Oradell Avenue. Go to fourth light and make left onto Kinderkamack Road. Follow Kinderkamack Road to Old Hook Road, make right onto Old Hook Road. Follow road past reservoir, over railroad tracks, and through traffic light. Old Hook Road will become High Street. Continue on High Street to stop sign. Make left on Closter Dock Road.

From Points West:

From Interstate 80, follow the signs for Garden State Parkway North. Follow the directions above.

From the Tappan Zee Bridge:

After crossing bridge, take the first exit off the bridge to Route 9W. Take Route 9W South into New Jersey, make right onto Closter Dock Road. Stay on Closter Dock Road for 2.5 miles.
