Authorities Investigate Fair Lawn NJ Fire as Possible Arson Incident

Fair Lawn NJ Arson LawyersLaw enforcement officials are investigating a building fire in Fair Lawn, NJ as a possible arson incident.

Initial reports of the fire began to come in around 11:15 p.m. Fair Lawn police got 911 calls that reported smoke coming from the Knights of Columbus building, which is located on Maple Avenue in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.

Firefighters quickly got to the site of the fire, broke through a door to the building, and identified the source of the smoke and the fire. Fortunately, no one suffered any injuries due to the fire. Additionally, there was no significant property damage.

The Fair Lawn Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Task Force have been investigating the fire to determine exactly what happened. Authorities already believe that the fire may have started when someone threw a Molotov cocktail into the Fair Lawn building.

If and when law enforcement identifies a culprit, that person could be charged with arson or aggravated arson. A conviction on third degree arson charges could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
