Shooting Suspect Captured by Englewood NJ Law Enforcement

Englewood NJ Assault SuspectsEnglewood NJ law enforcement has been targeting violent offenders throughout the city, with police recently capturing a person accused of aggravated assault in connection with a shooting incident.

Englewood NJ police officers have been trying to stop shootings on streets throughout the city. The focus of law enforcement on shootings and assaults was part of the police force’s response to a notable rise in the number of shootings in Englewood. Since April 2015, there have been 31 shootings in the city..

Englewood New Jersey police started “Operation Safe City” six months ago. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Englewood Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, worked together on the operation.

Now Englewood NJ detectives arrested a person wanted in connection with recent shooting incidents.

According to Englewood authorities, a 26-year-old man who lives in the city was a person of interest in several shootings. He was arrested at his Oakland Street home, where police allegedly found a loaded handgun, a loaded assault rifle, and ammunition rounds.

The 26-year-old suspect has now been charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and drug possession.
