Saddle Brook NJ Police Looking for Suspects in Four Recent Home Burglaries
Saddle Brook New Jersey police are searching for suspect in a number of recent home burglaries throughout the area. Police are also warning local residents to be careful and remain on alert for suspicious activity during the holidays.
Just one week before Christmas, the Saddle Brook Police Department received calls about four burglaries at different residences throughout the township. All of the break-ins and subsequent thefts occurred on the same night, leading law enforcement to believe that the same individuals may have been behind the burglaries.
Saddle Brook police issued a press release announcing the locations of the burglaries, which occurred at houses located on Saddle River Road, Harrison Street, 2nd Street, and 8th Street. The suspects allegedly broke into the homes and made off with various items, including expensive electronics.
When police officer arrived at the scenes of the burglaries, they found remarkably similar signs of forced entries into each of the houses.
Although Saddle Brook investigators have not yet identified a suspect in any of the recent break-ins, the investigation remains ongoing. If law enforcement is ultimately able to identify and capture a suspect for the thefts, the culprit would likely face serious criminal charges for burglary. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, burglary is typically classified as a third degree crime and carries a potential sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
While investigators continue to look into the recent thefts, the Saddle Brook Police Department is advising residents to “keep a vigilant watch for any suspicious persons, vehicles, and/or activities” in their neighborhoods. Anyone who sees suspicious persons or activity should immediately notify Saddle Brook police.
