Paramus New Jersey Bicyclist Killed in Car Accident
A bicyclist who was struck by a motor vehicle in Paramus NJ died due to serious head injuries sustained in the accident.
According to Paramus NJ police, the accident happened on Midland Avenue at Cardinal Place in Paramus, New Jersey. The 23-year-old victim was riding his bicycle alongside a relative.
At some point, a Jeep allegedly crashed into both bicyclists.
The victims were riding in the eastbound lane of Midland Avenue as they headed to work in the morning. According to officials, the victims work at different gas stations in Paramus.
Shortly after the accident, the 38-year-old driver of the vehicle called police for help. The driver then remained at the scene.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old victim did not survive. He died due as a result of a severe head injury caused by the accident.
Thankfully, the other victim survived. After the crash, he was transported to Hackensack Medical Center. He received urgent medical care at the facility.
Paramus NJ detectives and investigators with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a preliminary investigation into the accident. They are still trying to determine whether the driver of the Jeep was at fault in the crash.
At this time, the driver does not face any criminal crimes, nor has the driver been cited for any traffic offenses.
