Three Arrested for Domestic Violence Assault in Englewood, New Jersey

Englewood police arrested three people on domestic violence charges over the Christmas holiday.

Police made the first arrest on Christmas Eve. According to authorities, the 34-year-old suspect knocked down an elderly female relative and then assaulted her.

Police were called to the scene after they received a report of loud yelling inside an apartment in the 1st Ward. Once officers got to the scene and knocked on the door, the voices inside the apartment went silent.

The police officers continued to knock on the door until the suspect eventually answered and let the officers enter the apartment. After the officers interviewed the elderly woman, they placed the suspect under arrest.

The suspect has been charged with domestic violence assault, obstruction, and elder abuse.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $31,500 bail.

Englewood police made the second arrest on Christmas night. An officer was responding to a call at a 4th Ward apartment building when he saw the 33-year-old suspect walk out of an apartment. A woman then exited the apartment and told the officer that the suspect had assaulted her.

The officer attempted to speak with the suspect but he began to flee the scene on foot. The police officer chased the suspect for several blocks before finally catching him and placing him under arrest.

The suspect has been charged with a number of criminal offenses, including domestic violence assault, obstruction, and tampering with evidence. The suspect has also been charged with marijuana possession because the arresting officer reportedly saw the suspect try to discard 23 bags of marijuana during the chase.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bail.
