Three charged in conspiracy surrounding Montvale home, arson of same

Conspiracy Real Estate Fraud Bergen County NJThree people have been charged surrounding a conspiracy which sold a Montvale home for $1 and then had the home set on fire. One of the suspects is in custody and two others are considered fugitives. One of the defendants sold the Garden Lane home to his father for $1 in 2012 although he didn’t actually own it. Another female defendant, his realtor, is also charged in the scheme. The third defendant is charged with conspiracy and arson for allegedly setting the home on fire as part of their elaborate plan.

The realtor has also been linked to forgery and theft regarding a Paterson home where she was collecting rent on a property she didn’t own from section 8 housing. The defendant’s charges include forgery, theft, conspiracy, arson, and criminal mischief. For additional information, please see the NJ.com article.

These are serious felony charges which will be prosecuted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office at the Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack. The defendants are facing lengthy prison sentences if they are convicted of these charges.
