A woman from Lyndhurst, New Jersey was recently charged with multiple crimes after she reportedly caused a serious car crash on Route 17 in Rutherford, NJ. The suspect is Soscia Salo, a 43-year-old woman from Lyndhurst, NJ. According to law enforcement, Salo was driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber and headed north on Route 17 in Rutherford at around 10:20 p.m. when she moved into the southbound lane and slammed into a 2005 Hyundai Accent traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the other car, a 65-year-old man from Belleville, NJ, sustained significant physical injuries in the head-on collision and was later listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
After the motor vehicle accident, both motorists were stuck inside their mangled cars. Emergency medical responders and firefighters with the Rutherford Fire Department went to the site of the accident and removed the drivers from the vehicles. A subsequent search of Salo’s vehicle by Rutherford police officers reportedly turned up a small amount of heroin, leading to Salo being charged with drug crimes.
