New Milford School Board Official Charged with Theft

New Milford NJ Theft AttorneysA sitting member of the school board for New Milford NJ was recently placed under arrest and charged with a theft crime after law enforcement determined that $92K had been stolen from the school board’s account.

The suspect, a 57-year-old resident of New Milford, serves on the borough’s board of education. He has been accused of stealing $92,000 in money collected from registrants for recreational sports, summer camps, and other activities scheduled to be held in New Milford, NJ.

The borough administrator discovered discrepancies in the school board’s finances and contacted the New Milford Police Department. New Milford NJ detectives investigated and reportedly located some of the missing cash.

The suspect was arrested by police and charged with a very serious crime: misapplying entrusted property and government property.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect secured his from police custody on his own recognizance. He will still have to address the criminal charges in court at a later date.
