Former Bergen County NJ Corrections Officer Charged with Sexual Assault of Juvenile

Bergen County Sexual Assault SuspectA former Bergen County NJ corrections officer faces criminal charges for aggravated sexual assault more than 12 years ago after the alleged victim finally came forward to police.

According to law enforcement, the suspect sexually abused the underage victim in Bergen County, New Jersey. When the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted, she was 12 years old.

The victim did not tell anyone about the sexual abuse until recently, when she reached out to Bergen County prosecutors and said that the suspect sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions over a period of two years. Detectives investigated and spoke with the victim before determining that enough evidence existed to arrest the suspect and charge him in connection with the sex crimes.

The suspect, a 42-year-old resident of Paramus, was apprehended in Paramus. He has been charged with a number of sexual offenses, including aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transferred to the Morris County Jail in Morristown, New Jersey.
