Police Arrest Two Suspects in Murder of Fair Lawn NJ Man at Paterson Gas Station
Two suspects, one from Bergen County and one from Passaic County, were placed under arrest and charged with first degree murder for the fatal shooting of a gas station employee in Paterson, NJ.
The suspects are accused of shooting the victim at the First Avenue Gas station located on First Avenue near Route 20 in Paterson, New Jersey. According to law enforcement, the suspects were in the process of robbing the gas station attendant when they used a handgun to fire at least gunshot at him.
The victim, a 57-year-old resident of Fair Lawn, NJ, suffered a catastrophic wound as a result of the shooting. When Paterson officers got to the gas station, they found the victim on the pavement. He was rushed via ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. However, doctors at the Paterson medical facility were unable to save him; he was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at the hospital.
Paterson NJ police and detectives with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a joint investigation into the shooting and identified the two suspects as a 21-year-old Garfield man and a 21-year-old Paterson man. Police later located and apprehended the men.
The suspects have been charged with several felonies, including first degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
