Drunk Driver Allegedly Crashes into Washington Township Patrol Car, Injures Police Officer

Washington Township NJ DWI Accident LawyersA police officer in Washington Township suffered minor injuries after he was allegedly crashed into by a drunk driver.

The accident went down around 7:00 p.m. The Washington Township police officer was sitting in a patrol car parked near the Westwood border when he received word of a possibly intoxicated motorist swerving across lanes. The person who notified police said that the intoxicated motorist was driving east on Washington Avenue in Washington Township, NJ.

When the Washington Township police officer saw the suspect’s car, he turned on the police cruiser’s emergency lights and the sirens.

At some point during the subsequent chase, the suspect allegedly slammed his vehicle into the Washington Township cop’s patrol car.

The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the car accident and was treated at a local hospital.

Meanwhile, the suspect allegedly continued to drive on the roadway immediately after the accident and later collided with another motorist.

The suspect’s vehicle finally came to a stop after the second crash. He was then placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
