Bergen County NJ Police Arrest CA Man Accused of Distributing Child Pornography

Police officers recently apprehended a California man who has been charged with distributing child pornography in Bergen County, New Jersey.

According to Bergen County authorities, the 41-year-old suspect went on the Internet and had a conversation with an undercover officer who was posing as the parent of a six-year-old minor. The undercover detective works with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit. When he spoke with the suspect, he used the screen name “DejaVu1877.”

During the Internet conversation, the suspect allegedly informed the detective that he likes to look at child pornography.

According to officials, the suspect also allegedly sent several images of child exploitation to the undercover police officer.

Bergen County law enforcement conducted an investigation and later obtained a search warrant. Police later executed the search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Sacramento, California and reportedly seized the suspect’s computer.

The suspect was arrested and subsequently charged with the sex offense of distributing images of child pornography.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was taken to a California jail. Right now the suspect is currently awaiting extradition to New Jersey. After the suspect has been transferred to New Jersey, he will be remanded to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack and held in lieu of $75,000 bail.
