Suspicious Man Accused of Following Juveniles in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey

Ridgefield Park NJ Sex Crime LawyersPolice in Ridgefield Park NJ are searching for a man who was involved in a “suspicious incident” in a local neighborhood.

According to Ridgefield Park police, the two minors were headed home from school when a man drove by in a four-door sedan and began to follow them. The man later stepped out of his vehicle and trailed the children while they walked south on Hudson Avenue in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.

The man reportedly walked in the same direction as the kids for roughly two blocks. When the children entered a private house, the man stopped and watched the exterior of the residence for an unspecified period of time.

The man eventually walked back toward his car and drove out of the neighborhood.

Authorities indicated that the man did not cause any physical harm or make any physical gestures toward the juveniles.

The children did contact local police and provide them with a description of the man who allegedly followed them. The man is said to be a Hispanic in his early 30s. He has a stocky build and stands approximately 5-feet tall. When he followed the children, the man was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and a black hat. He also covered his eyes with sunglasses.

The Ridgefield Park Police Department is currently investigating the incident and looking for the man. Ridgefield Park detectives indicated that they merely want to speak with the man at this time. There are no criminal charges such as luring, or any other sex crime, pending against the man.
