Police seized 16 pounds of heroin along with crystal meth valued at $6 million dollars from a Cliffside Park home last week. According to the Bergen Record article, this house was involved in drug trafficking ring which smuggled illegal drugs in the soles of women’s shoes. Police arrested one New York city man who was leaving the home with 2 kilograms of heroin strapped to his waist hidden in the soles of women’s shoes. The investigation and raid was conducted by the State Police’s Drug Trafficking North Unit and the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force of the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). This raid came a month after federal and state officials broke up a multi-million dollar heroin processing ring in several Paterson homes. The heroin was reportedly smuggled in from Columbia and sent to places as far away as Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C.
