Three Suspects Charged with Burglary, Sexual Assault in Fair Lawn, NJ
Police officers in Fair Lawn NJ recently arrested three Newark men accused of burglarizing a local residence and sexually assaulting a female victim.
The suspects allegedly broke into the Fair Lawn house a short time after 3:00 a.m. According to Bergen County officials, the suspects sexually assaulted the victim after forcing their way into the home.
A neighbor dialed 911 and called the Fair Lawn Police Department to report a strange man in the neighborhood. Fair Lawn NJ cops were dispatched to the area, where they encountered the three suspects inside the victim’s house.
The suspects were detained and taken to Fair Lawn police headquarters. Meanwhile, Fair Lawn police worked with detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit to investigate the alleged sex crime.
Authorities later arrested the suspects. Two of them were charged with a number of criminal offenses, including aggravated sexual assault, burglary, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The third suspect was only charged with burglary in connection with the home break-in.
